BOXING
DAY 2004
The 2nd annual
Boxing Day gig has passed with yet another sweltering night at The
Civic Hotel, Inglewood, WA. The band was in good form but unfortunately
I was still recovering from my bout with a four-wheel drive and my movements
were somewhat restricted. Fortunately Leopard and Tufty
Shawcross filled the breach. Those who didn’t make the
gig will shortly be able to buy a DVD of
it from this website. In addition to the entire set played on the night
the DVD will include intros by me shot in my home suburb of Bicton,
in which I’ll ramble semi-coherently about the inspiration
and genesis of many of the songs. The DVD will also include several
of
the old film clips, snippets from the 1981 road doco WARNER
IN THE WILD and some footage from the 1986 and 1989 RAFFLES
HOTEL gigs.
Stay tuned.
LIVE
ACTION – ANZAC DAY 2005 one and only gig
There will
be only one more Suburbs gig in 2005, the ANZAC
EVE gig at the Leopold Hote in Bicton, WA,
on Sunday April 24) If you want to see the Subs live this may be your
last chance. I can’t guarantee the next car that hits me won’t
have a bullbar and Leopard is looking to do some chopper flying up in
South-East Asia ... so this will be it.
CREDIT
CARD UP AND RUNNING
I would like
to thank those first brave souls who have bought product of mine on this
site via PayPal using
a credit card. It’s really pretty easy and all orders are X-Press
posted as soon received. Don’t be put off by having to register for
PayPal, it’s a simple thing to do, it’s secure and because
their costs are low I can keep prices stable.
PROJECTS
FOR 2005
Now that the
rights to the MUGS GAME masters
have reverted to me from Mushroom I will do some new CDs of a remastered
(1978) album as soon as finances permit. Similarly, videos WARNER
IN THE WILD and DAVE WARNER LIVE AT THE RAFFLES will
be done as DVDs and made available on this website.
WHAT'S
NEW ON THE SITE
Check out my article on JUSTIN LANGER.
I sent it to the sports editor of The Australian but he obviously considered
it not worth publishing. Anyway, you can read it all here instead.
AND FINALLY: THANK YOU
I wish
to thank the many fans who have contacted me via the website to give me a
thumbs up after the accident. Your good wishes and kind thoughts really are
appreciated.
