Original Message ---------------------------- Dear Dave Thank you for your prompt dispatch of the CDs we ordered and also the bonus books. Listening to the CDs particularly the Seventies one brings back many memories of nights spent at the Shents, the Subi and other pubs that either no longer exist or have changed out of recognition. It seems so strange to remember those days as my children now start to embark on the "endless procession of Friday Nights at the pubs." Hearing once again "This is My Planet" reminds me of the Christmas Night when several of us gathered after spending the day with our various parents to reverently listen to this new offering. We found to our horror that when we took out the LP the record store had put in the sleeve..... "Tainted Love" by mistake! You can imagine our reaction. Times move on and now our children (to my amazement) love your music. As I write this my 16 year old son is in the process of transferring one of the albums to his iPod. I probably feel much the same as my parents would have if they had heard me listening to "Half Time at the Football". Thank you again for sending these and indeed having them available, my tapes and vinyl versions have been nicked over time or have worn out and we had given up hope of finding them in record stores. Thank you for the wonderful memories. Yours Michael Dawson ______________________________________________________ FAN

Original Message ----- Hi Dave, -----
Original Message ----- Dear Mr. Warner, I've just visited
your website and came across your brilliant article on Aussie
cricketer Justin Langer. I found it very thoughtful and well-prepared,
and I'd
really love it if you can give me the permission to link to it with
my website, http://jlanger.freeserverhost.com. I think you've already understood
by the link's As for me, my name's
Ishita, I'm from Bangladesh. I've become Justin's fan since
1998 when I was 13. His return in test cricket with the tour of Pakistan
that year
impressed me so much that I eventually became his ardent fan! I certainly
agree 100%
with your article that Justin had always been denied of the admiration
and praises
that he deserved truly. It was extremely disappointing that such a
good article was
rejected by the newspapers! Anyways, I hope that someday you'll also
receive the I hope that you'd consider my request of linking the article with your name mentioned there in my site. I'd be extremely glad! Take care and all the best! Yours truly -----
Original Message ----- Received your CD today. Thanks for the prompt delivery and the autograph. I have been a fan since the 70s when I saw you perform at the Queens Hotel in Brisbane. You were "apparently" the support act to Cold Chisel who you outplayed and outperformed on the night. "Mugs Game" became our anthem from that night. Thanks again -----
Original Message ----- G'day Dave, When I was in my early 20s I used to follow you around the southern suburbs of Sydney when I could, and flog my copies of your albums mercilessly. I think I have 5! There are a heap of scratches now on the most played tracks and it leaves me a little sad that I can't show my teenage son some Warner wisdom. He is just of an age where a lesson about "learning to play the game" (as per "Mug's Game") would do him some real good. Anyway the bottom line. I believe your lyrics from much of your work were among the best of any Aus. artist. On a personal level "Mugs Game" contributed significantly to me coming to terms with the fact that not being one of the cool ones – being too short and not much to look at like was OK and the truth of youth and the effect superficiality has on them. Bizarrely/ironically once I gained that knowledge, the confidence it gave me led me to start pulling some pretty good sorts! I was such a fan I gave serious consideration to sending you a wedding invitation back in late ' 85. We are still happily married some 19 years later& 2 teenagers in tow. You would have enjoyed it too – a harbour cruise reception, but would have been embarrassed by the doting attention of the aged 20-something mates of mine who were also big fans (and still are). Dave, I reckon with a heart like yours the boy from Bicton would still give the hood from Brooklyn a helluva, helluva fight. Cheers, always a fan. Steve Atkins Received
